7 Visões no Chiado
Chiado is one of Lisbon's most emblematic areas. It has long been present in Portuguese literature and is part of the city's habits. Many of its ex-libris are also photographic commonplaces.
When I took on the challenge of photographing Chiado, I was only sure that I didn't want to walk along paths that had already been trodden. With no pretensions to originality, I chose to tackle the subject in order to reflect on the doubts I feel about the role of photography as a "descriptor" of reality and the shortcomings of this model.
Why choose a single point of view when you can have several? I believe that one of the roles of art is to show that reality has many meanings, many more than those that the senses reveal to us. I only hope to help you discover different ways of looking at Chiado.
