Belém - Trafaria

One year in the water (1989 - 1990)

There was a time when everyday of the week I needed to cross the Tagus river in my work commute.
I took the 7 a.m. ferry in the fishing villa of Trafaria, and arrived in Lisbon on the Belém fluvial station some twenty minutes later.
At the end of the day, I took the ferry back to Trafaria, and this routine went on for a whole year.
Those ferry rides were the only time I had available for photography. So I took my Nikon with me, and started photographing what I saw for a year.

The ferries are different now, but I imagine the routine is still the same for a passenger.
